Heng Samrin to Nguyen Phu Trong: I stop believing in the bilateral talk with Thailand

Rasmey Kampuchea reported that Samdech Heng Samrin, the CPP's Chairman and the Chairman of Cambodian National Assembly, has expressed to the newly elected General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam that he (Heng Samrin) did not believe in bilateral talk with Thailand. Heng Samrin met with the special representative of Nguyen Phu Trong on the 15th.

Nguyễn Phú Trọng (born April 14, 1944, in Hanoi, Vietnam) is the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, elected at the party's 11th National Congress in 19 January 2011, and the chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam.

Let us hope that the tit for tat between Thailand and Cambodia will not be used to bring Vietnam directly or indirectly into the fight. However, the meeting may send a message to Thailand and ASEAN that Cambodia might seek help from its neighboring big brother.

Will history repeat itself?
