Unity is still in the clouds

Kem Sokha calls Rainsy's formula is to desolve [his] HRP party.

“If there is a will, there is a way”

Like this famous saying, “if there is a will, there is a way” to unite all oppositions to become one.

In Cambodian politics, I would add the word “true” into the saying—if there is a "true will," there is a way.

For so many years Cambodian voters have waited to see the “fruit and flower”, so to say, from the unification that all opposition’s leaders have said they would do.

Until now, there is no “true will" to unite. Why? Not all but many politicians are in politics for themselves first. National interest is not their top priority. If all of them would put their differences aside and work together,  they would not have this problem.

Four elections have past, and now the same song has been sung by the same individuals: We are merging, uniting, cooperating, etc... And etc...

Will it be any different this time? More than likely, the answer will be the same. Sam Rainsy once said—the unity can only happen in the clouds and he is still right.
