Viet Nam, Cambodia boost traditional ties, but the unity between the oppositions are still in the clouds
While relationship between Thailand and Cambodia remains fragile, Cambodia and Vietnam continue to boost their ties. The whole world knows that Cambodia and Vietnam do have such a tight relationship—anything closer than this, the two countries can become one.
At the same time the Cambodian political opposition's leader Sam Rainsy suffers another setback. The Bangkok Post reported that: ‘Citing the country's constitution, election laws and the Supreme Court's decision, the National Assembly announced in a statement dated March 15 that Sam Rainsy "loses his rights, privileges and membership as member of parliament... for the fourth mandate."’
The tie between the CPP and Vietnam is traditional, but the tie between Cambodian political parties which are supposed to oppose the CPP in the next general election is still in the clouds. Perhaps Sam Rainsy is still right when he stated some time ago that the unification between the oppositions can happen only in the clouds.
Realizing that SRP may have a bigger problem, some other political groups are dreaming on and begin to count their congressional seats for the next mandate. They are waiting for the candle light to burn out. Will it?======================================================

Hung reiterated Viet Nam's consistent policy to strengthen its comprehensive relations with Cambodia on the basis of the interest of the people of the two nations, for peace and stability in the region and the world.
"Viet Nam and Cambodia should be pro-active in developing a co-operation programme between the two governments in the 2015-20 period as soon as possible while optimising successes in bilateral economic and trade co-operation programmes," said Hung.
The Deputy Prime Minister also expressed his wish to see an early completion of the planting of border posts along the Viet Nam-Cambodia border.
"This is a very important element to enable Vietnamese and Cambodian people living along the border to exchange cultural and economic activities," said Hung.
Men Sam An thanked Viet Nam for its support in Cambodia's wars of national salvation and its current cause of national development.
She hoped, with its experience, Viet Nam would continue to support Cambodia in the role as the President of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Association in 2011.
She also pledged to provide favourable conditions to Vietnamese investors in Cambodia and overseas Vietnamese living and working there.
